Non Verbal Reasoning is one of the four disciplines of exam papers used in the selection process (11 plus exams) for entrance into Grammar Schools as well as being used alongside common entrance exams when applying to many of the country's Independent Schools.

Non Verbal Reasoning is based on shapes and pictures i.e. NOT verbal questions. Your child will be expected to find similarities or differences, patterns or sequences within a set of shapes (pictures) and then choose the most appropriate picture from a selection of pictures provided that will best complete a pattern or that is different to or most similar to the other shapes in the question. Written instructions are provided.
